Plant Journal

Keep a record of plants you encounter, with a photo, habitat, and location you can return to. One entry represents one plant observation; repeat observations can show how the same plant changes.

Make it your own

On the web, sign in and choose New Dattle → Template. Web Dattles use Shared access; you can start with just yourself and invite people later. For a Private Dattle stored on your device, use the mobile app.

  1. Start from the template

In New Dattle, choose Template and search for Plant Journal, or browse Field collection. Open its preview, choose Use template, and review the name and fields before saving. The suggested name is Plant Journal.

  2. Capture your first entry

Photograph the identifying details, select the observation location, and choose a habitat. Add light conditions and a note about the leaf, flower, or growth you noticed.

  3. Review and keep it useful

Use Card view to compare photos and search your notes for a repeated location or plant. Check the suggested common and scientific names before relying on them.
