Instrument Reading

Record a measurement with the instrument, target, unit, and context needed to interpret it. One entry per reading keeps different targets and methods separate.

Make it your own

On the web, sign in and choose New Dattle → Template. Web Dattles use Shared access; you can start with just yourself and invite people later. For a Private Dattle stored on your device, use the mobile app.

  1. Start from the template

In New Dattle, choose Template and search for Instrument Reading, or browse Field collection. Open its preview, choose Use template, and review the name and fields before saving. The suggested name is External Instrument Readings.

  2. Capture your first entry

Enter the instrument code, location, instrument type, and target. Copy the reading with its unit, choose a condition, and add a display photo or method note.

  3. Review and keep it useful

Search an instrument or target to review readings. Compare values only after checking units, method, and the condition recorded with the measurement.
