Terms & Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 8, 2026

This Combined Privacy Policy and Terms of Use ("Agreement") governs your access to and use of the mobile and web application "Dattle" ("App"), operated by Accumulus Corporation ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). The App enables users to collect data and process it using external artificial intelligence ("AI") processing. The current release uses xAI (Grok), including for audio transcription.

Users may create Private or Shared data collections ("dattles"). Private dattles are stored in the App's local device storage and are not synced to Dattle's cloud as collections. A Premium user may explicitly create a passphrase-encrypted local backup file and choose where to save or transfer it; Dattle does not receive the file or passphrase. If a signed-in user explicitly saves a custom template, the selected definition settings are stored privately in their Dattle account and synced across their devices; data rows, members, and attached media are not copied into the template. If the user requests an AI feature, the selected Private content is transmitted through our service to xAI for processing. Shared dattles are stored in cloud storage. The Collection Owner may invite others with a join code or email invite and assign roles such as Viewer, Contributor, or Editor.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App. We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

1. Terms of Use

1.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

1.2 User Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

If you join a Shared dattle, the Collection Owner can transfer it to someone else, archive it, or pause it if they delete their account. An Editor (or a Contributor, if there is no Editor) may then become the new Collection Owner. We may email you about those events using the address on your account. Joining a Shared dattle is your consent to that succession, not only to the original owner.

1.3 License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to this Agreement. You may not modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the App, or resell or sublicense the App itself.

1.4 User Content and Data Collection

You may upload, input, or collect data ("User Content") through the App for processing via external AI processors. For Private dattles, User Content remains on your device except for temporary transmission to AI processors if you choose to process it. For Shared dattles, User Content is stored in the cloud and may be shared with or contributed to by other users according to the Collection Owner's settings. Custom templates that you explicitly save are private account data in the cloud and can include a title, notes, field definitions, and graph, polling, or workflow settings, but not Dattle rows, members, or media.

You retain ownership of your User Content but grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and transmit it as necessary to provide the App's services, including sharing with xAI, sending join codes and invite emails, and sharing with other users of Shared dattles.

Data Ownership: The creator or designated owner of a dattle ("Collection Owner") retains ownership of the User Content within that collection, including contributions from other users. The Collection Owner may change if the current owner transfers the dattle, or if an eligible member takes over a dattle paused because the owner deleted their account. The successor becomes Collection Owner with the same rights. By contributing to a Shared dattle, you grant the Collection Owner—including any later Collection Owner—all necessary rights to manage and distribute the User Content. Contributors understand that their contributions may remain after they leave and may be controlled by a later Collection Owner they did not choose, except that account deletion removes the departing user's contributions as described in §1.8.

Prohibited Data Types in Shared Dattles: You are strictly prohibited from uploading, storing, or sharing the following in Shared dattles:

  • Personal health information (e.g., medical records, diagnoses, genetic data, or biometric health metrics), as defined under HIPAA
  • Financial information (e.g., bank account numbers, credit card details, or credit reports)
  • Government-issued identifiers (e.g., Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers)
  • Sensitive personal data (e.g., racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or criminal records)
  • Personal information about children or anyone else who is not legally eligible to use Dattle
  • Pornographic or sexually explicit content

If you upload prohibited data, we reserve the right to remove such content, suspend your access, or terminate your account.

1.5 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for illegal purposes or to violate any laws
  • Upload harmful content, including malware, viruses, or infringing material
  • Upload, store, or share pornographic or sexually explicit content
  • Interfere with the App's operation or other users
  • Collect or harvest data from other users without consent
  • Use automated systems (e.g., bots) to access the App without permission
  • Share User Content in Shared collections without obtaining necessary consents from data subjects
  • Attempt to access or modify Private collections of other users
  • Upload prohibited data types to Shared dattles

1.6 Advertising

The current release does not display third-party advertisements and does not use personal information for cross-app advertising tracking. We will update this Agreement and the applicable store disclosures before introducing advertising or advertising tracking and obtain any consent required by law or platform policy, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission if tracking applies.

1.7 Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by U.S. copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks without permission.

1.8 Account Deletion, Transfer, and Succession

Account deletion. You may delete your account in Settings. Deletion is permanent. We delete your account credentials and profile, remove you from Shared dattles you belong to, and wipe Private dattles stored on that device.

Shared dattles you own. If a Shared dattle has other members, you must choose, for each such dattle, either: (1) transfer ownership to a current member (you may pick someone, or let Dattle assign the longest-tenured Editor, or a Contributor if there is no Editor); or (2) pause the dattle for 30 days so an eligible member can take it over. You cannot finish account deletion while you still own an active Shared dattle that has other members.

Transfer. The new owner becomes Collection Owner with the same rights described in §1.4. You lose membership and access. We may email the new owner.

Pause and take-over. A paused dattle is hidden from normal use. Join codes and pending invites are invalidated. Remaining members may be notified. During the 30-day window, only an Editor may take over if any Editor remains; otherwise a Contributor may take over. Viewers cannot take over. Taking over restores the dattle, makes that member Collection Owner, and does not restore the former owner. If nobody takes over within 30 days, we permanently delete the dattle and its content.

Owner-initiated full deletion. A Collection Owner who wants a Shared dattle fully removed can archive it and then permanently delete it from Archived in Settings. Archiving hides the dattle and members lose access. Permanent deletion removes the dattle and its content. If the owner archives a dattle and does not delete it immediately, we permanently delete archived dattles after 30 days.

Your contributions. Leaving a Shared dattle without deleting your account leaves your contributions in the dattle. Account deletion, however, removes entries, comments, and uploaded media attributed to your account, including contributions in dattles you previously left. Other members' contributions and the Shared dattle may continue. An empty placeholder may remain where needed to preserve another member's reply to a removed entry.

1.9 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for any reason, including violation of this Agreement. Upon termination, your license ends and you must cease using the App. If we suspend or terminate your account, we may revoke access, transfer or pause Shared dattles you own, or delete them, as needed to protect other users and the service. You may appeal terminations related to content disputes via our support process.

1.10 Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed $100.

1.11 Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Portland, Oregon, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except for small claims.

1.12 Miscellaneous

If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between you and us.

2. Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding personal information under U.S. laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other applicable regulations.

2.1 Information We Collect

  • Account and contact information: Apple or Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile image URL when provided; contact email if you provide one in a support request
  • User Content: Data you collect or input for AI processing, including text, images, or other files. For Private dattles, this is stored only on your device; for Shared dattles, it is stored in the cloud.
  • Custom templates: For templates you explicitly save, the template name, notes, field definitions, and graph, polling, or workflow settings are stored privately with your account and synced across devices. Rows, members, media, and poll response-link credentials are not copied into a custom template.
  • Usage and technical data: Screen views, feature interactions, app and device information, Firebase installation or device identifiers, IP address and approximate region inferred by service providers, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and day-scoped pseudonymous request counters used to limit automated or abusive activity
  • Membership and notices: Dattle titles, roles, and member emails needed to send invites, join codes, transfer notices, and pause notices
  • Poll responses: Answers submitted through polling links, response timestamps, completion time, collection source, and a pseudonymous device identifier used to flag or limit repeat responses
  • Purchases: Subscription and in-app purchase history, product and transaction identifiers, entitlement status, and the Dattle user ID used to associate purchases with an account. Dattle and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card number from Apple or Google.
  • Notifications and activity: Expo push tokens, per-dattle notification preferences, and Shared-dattle activity metadata such as member display name, event category, role, time, mention recipient, row status or assignee, and row identifier. Activity metadata is kept for up to 90 days; push messages may identify the Dattle and describe an assignment or mention, but do not include row values or comment content.
  • Personal entry reminders: An optional recurring day and time schedule is stored on your device and registered with its notification system. It is not synced to Dattle servers or shared with other members, and its preview does not include the Dattle name or row content.
  • Revision history: For Shared dattles, previous and updated definition or row values, the editor's display name, and the edit time are retained for up to 90 days, or up to one year for new revisions to a Dattle owned by a Premium subscriber. Only the Collection Owner and active Editors can access them. Media revisions record attachment state rather than a download URL; media files and poll-link credentials are not retained for restoration.
  • Support records: Your message, request type, user ID, contact email, app version, platform version, and device name when supplied

Dattle is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone who does not meet that requirement.

2.2 How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the App's services, including data processing via external AI
  • To enable sharing and contributions for Shared dattles based on the Collection Owner's permissions
  • To process account deletion, ownership transfer, pause, take-over, archive, and permanent deletion
  • To email members when an owner transfers a dattle, or deletes their account and pauses a dattle
  • To send join codes and invite emails, which share the dattle title but not Private content
  • For analytics, security, and fraud prevention
  • To collect and summarize poll responses, enforce response limits, and identify possible duplicate submissions
  • To communicate with you (e.g., updates, support)
  • To comply with legal obligations

2.3 Sharing Your Information

We share information with:

  • External AI Processors: Currently xAI (Grok), including speech-to-text transcription. When you request AI features, selected text, images, or audio and its transcript are sent to xAI for processing. This also applies to Private dattles. We may change or add AI processors in the future. Before sending User Content to a new processor, we will update this Privacy Policy and applicable store disclosures and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by law or platform policy.
  • Other members and invitees: For Shared dattles, with members based on the Collection Owner's permissions, and with people who receive a join code or email invite. When an owner transfers or pauses a dattle, we may disclose the leaving owner's display name and the Dattle title to remaining members.
  • Service Providers: Google Firebase for authentication, app hosting, database, storage, server functions, analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and App Check; RevenueCat and Apple or Google for purchases and entitlements; Expo for push delivery; and Resend for support, invite, and lifecycle email
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights

If you use Dattle outside the United States, personal information processed through account, Shared Dattle, AI, email, purchase, notification, analytics, crash-reporting, or performance services may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your country. Where required by applicable law, we and our service providers use recognized safeguards for these transfers, such as adequacy decisions or contractual data-protection terms.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

2.4 Analytics and Device Technologies

Firebase Analytics automatically collects app interaction and technical data and receives custom feature events without Dattle titles, row contents, or live route identifiers. Dattle does not use the advertising identifier or link this information with third-party data for advertising. In production builds, Firebase Crashlytics and Performance collect crash, device, app-version, and performance diagnostics. Dattle does not attach account identifiers, Dattle titles, row contents, prompts, or other User Content to custom diagnostic reports. Crash and performance collection is disabled in development builds. Our website may use technologies necessary to deliver pages and links, but the current website does not contain an advertising or analytics pixel.

2.5 Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. For Shared dattles, cloud storage uses encryption and access controls. Private records stored by Dattle use authenticated application-layer encryption with a key kept in the device secure store. Private media remains readable inside Dattle's protected app sandbox and follows the platform-specific file protection and backup behavior described below.

2.6 Your Rights

After account deletion completes, we retain a minimal technical record containing the deleted account identifier, completion status, and dates for 30 days to prevent delayed service events from restoring the account. It is then removed by our daily cleanup. Unfinished deletion requests remain recorded until resolved; unexpected remaining account records require review before the technical record is removed.

Under CCPA and similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Access, delete, or correct your personal information
  • Ask about our sharing practices
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information
  • Change optional notification permissions, Shared-dattle notification preferences, and personal entry reminders in the App or device settings

You may delete your account in the App. That deletes your account and Private data on the device, removes you as a member of Shared dattles, and removes entries, comments, and uploaded media attributed to your account. Shared dattles and other members' contributions may continue; an empty placeholder may preserve another member's reply to a removed entry.

If you need a specific Shared dattle fully erased, the Collection Owner can archive it and permanently delete it from Archived, or you can contact us. We may retain limited records as required by law, to complete a transfer or pause, to prevent fraud, or to resolve disputes.

When an account is deleted, identifying Shared-dattle activity and revision metadata changes to “Former member,” and assignment identifiers are removed. Remaining event and revision details may stay visible to authorized members until the applicable 90-day period ends.

To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We respond within 45 days. For EU users, if applicable, we comply with GDPR rights.

2.7 Data Retention

Private dattles stay on your device until you delete them or delete your account on that device. Dattle does not keep a synced cloud copy. If you explicitly create a Dattle Private backup, the encrypted file contains Private definitions, rows, and Dattle-retained attachments. Restore creates new local copies and never overwrites existing Dattles. The passphrase cannot be recovered; anyone with both the file and passphrase may read its contents. You must manage copies retained by the storage or transfer service you choose.

On Android, Dattle asks the operating system to exclude all app data from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. On Apple devices, Dattle marks its retained Private media directory as excluded from backup; encrypted Private records may still be included in an encrypted Apple-managed device backup or transfer. Their encryption key is available only while the Apple device is unlocked and is configured not to transfer to another device through Keychain backup or restore, so restored ciphertext is not Dattle's supported continuity path. Dattle-retained Private media uses complete device file protection on Apple devices; encrypted Private records use after-first-unlock file protection so permitted background services can operate safely. Android uses app sandbox protection. Operating-system and device-vendor behavior can change, and Dattle cannot view or remotely erase platform backups. Copies you export, share, or save to the photo library are outside Dattle and must be deleted where you saved them.

Uninstalling Dattle removes the copy in the installed app's local container, subject on Apple devices to encrypted records retained in an Apple-managed backup or transfer and to platform behavior. If a device is lost or unavailable, Dattle cannot recover or remotely erase its Private dattles. Shared dattles remain in Dattle's cloud and become available again after an authorized account signs in.

Shared dattles stay until the Collection Owner archives or deletes them, an eligible member takes over a paused dattle, or the applicable cleanup period ends. Membership records for a deleted user are removed when the account is deleted. Shared-dattle activity expires after 90 days. Revision history expires after 90 days, or after one year for new revisions to a Dattle owned by a Premium subscriber. Expiry set when a revision is created is not extended retroactively by a later subscription.

Custom templates remain with your account until you delete the template or delete your account. Account deletion removes all custom templates stored beneath your account record.

Paused dattles are retained for up to 30 days to allow take-over, then permanently deleted if unclaimed. Archived dattles are retained for up to 30 days unless the owner restores or permanently deletes them sooner.

Purchase and transaction records may be retained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or us as needed for entitlement administration and legal, tax, accounting, security, or fraud-prevention obligations under the applicable provider policies and legal requirements.

Day-scoped abuse-control counters contain hashed account, installation, or network subjects rather than their raw value and are scheduled for deletion after approximately three days. Security and infrastructure providers may retain their own logs under their applicable policies.

2.8 Third-Party Links

The App may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their practices.
